Jack-O-Lanterns & other shite
Sorry it's been so long folks! Busy at work & this & that going on... I guess there hasn't been a whole lot to say either. All is well & Frankie is doing well with the cats & our lives! He is learning very well - he knows his name, he knew it right away, and is very good now with the piddling - as long as you (and anyone who comes in) ignore him when you first come in the door until he calms down, he is fine. We're very happy we have him.

We carved pumpkins last Wednesday. I wasnted to do it early so we could have them out & enjoy them lit up for awhile beforehand, because normally they get out the night before or something & then lit up for one night & then they are thrown out. So I thought it'd be nice to get some time/use out of them. Good think I took pictures that night, because now they are buried in snow!!! It DUMPED on us last night! Usually around this time of year it snows, but just a little & then is gone again for awhile & just snows on and off for a bit in November. Well... looks like winter is here for good. I think we have like 15 centimeters already & it is still snowing.

Anyway, here are the pictures of our Jack-O-Lanterns:

This one is Hank's. He did an awesome job. We had some stencils but they looked way too hard for me to try! He didn't even seem like he wanted to do them at first but once he got into it he was having fun & being a real perfectionist!

This one is mine...

And this is ours together:

We also roasted the pumpkin seeds... YUM! And listened to the Phantom of the Opera CD while we did it. FUN!

So we went & got him some supplies (leash, collar etc.) so we can give the stuff back to his old owener & while we were at the pet store got some better food for the cats, since he gets such healthy stuff. They say IAMS just isn't as good as we thought it was back in the day. While we were there I saw the cutest things... jackets & booties etc. for the winter! I might just have to splurge one day... but for now I got him this cuuuuute little sweater. He loves it! He gets excited when I take it out & sticks his head & arms through like an excited little boy to put it on! Here it is:

And while I am at it with posting pictures, here's one of all of my babies sitting together!

I am shocked how far Cupid has come with Frankie. She will cuddle right up to him (only when he is laying with me, I have yet to see her do it by herself) and he will lick her & kind of tug at her fur on her back with his teeth - he is not really biting her... just showing affection I guess, 'cause she just sits there & purrrrs! And he rests his head on her like a pillow! Love it! Dusty & Frankie get along but still Dusty has his moments where he growls at him, but they don't fight. They will sit next to each other too.

We helped Booty-Eh move on Saturday. She has a really nice place. About the size of mine and really cute. Mostly everything is brand new.

I started feeling the sore throat & beginning of a cold on Saturday so tried to fight it with the Cold F-X & Echineca (don't feel like checking the spelling of that right now!) & juice etc. but I guess I didn't catch it in time. Sunday & Monday I was so sick! Cold & flu & fever... ugh. So I nursed myself all Sunday & yesterday with Hank's help & feel quite a bit better today. Not 100% that's for sure, but I am at work & surviving. Hopefully will be even better tomorrow. I think a little whiskey for halloween night should help! Hahaha!

I guess I didn't really have the need for winter boots last year since I was stuck at home with my broken shoulder anyway, so never got any. Not sure what I did before that... I guess I had those ugly brown boots or just wore the shit out of my shoes (and probably froze too) the years before. But I realized when it snowed so much I needed proper footwear for the winter! The sidewalks are hardly done on the streets on the way to my bus stop, especially if it snows at night & in themorning it is piled high. So I didn't want to slip & fall or anything so I put on my old shoes that have some grip on them to come to work today & found out they should be in the garbage. I got to the bus stop & wondered why my foot was cold & wet and my right shoe is torn - the leather material from just below where my big toe starts, down the sole to the middle of my foot. Ugh. SO now I have to go boot shopping after work. Fun. So I either have to walk all through the place I work in all the tunnels etc. downtown (which at least keeps me warm) to a mall I am unfamiliar with to find shoe stores. Then I'd have to come back this way to get my bus, or take a different one that'll make me walk further to get home. OR I can take the bus PAST my house & go to the mall by there where I know there is either Zellers or Shoe Warehouse & I am pretty much guaranteed I'll find what I want there. But then I have to walk home & be cold & take more time. Ugh. I need to get a licenmse & car I guess one of these days...

I guess I better see if the internet will show me what shoe stores they have in Portage Place to help me make a decision. I know exactly what I want... I just can't explain it and I know they had them at Shoe Warehouse last year. I should have got them then, but money was so tight... I think I recall doing an entry about how I was so proud of myself for NOT getting them! I wanna go find that too.

Ciao for now! AND HAPPY HALLOWEEEN!
