An Angel Got Her Wings This Weekend
Hurtin' today pretty good. Friggen crazy long weekend.
Friday after work I went over to C&DFour's. I was off at like 1:30 & didn't feel like going home to do nothing all by myself so I just went to visit them. I had plans to go to MB's (Who I think from now on I'll be calling Booty-eh or Booty-A... I guess I'll play with it till I get used to one & like it enough to stick with it...) after she got off at 4:30... so thought I'd get an early start while I waited, and CFour was up to it... DFour came home shortly after and was in that same mood! So we're all buzzin' when Bootyeh came to get me. She came in for a quick one & CFour was prepping her roast. Bootyeh then asked them to come over. They were up for it, so they just packed up the roast & what they were gonna make for supper & brought it over to her place. AS & KC came over too. Hank joined us later... he was sick with a cold & rested for awhile first. ANyway, we had a lot of fun & Bootyeh had to work in the morning so she had to call it a night & we came back here & played awhile longer. We were done, and they were not, so they continued the party back at C&DFour's.
Anyway it was fun... and it got pretty drunk out! So it's been sooo long since Hank & I had a weekend to just relax. We got up & had a 'wake & bake' and hung out together. We had a few things to do at home so did it, but not rushing or anything... it was good. We were getting along so nicely not being so stressed out... we laughed & smiled lots.
Then we got the call that LilWea's Mom passed away. Sad... but it is true, she's in a better place now, and not suffering anymore. I offered to make her dinner so she could rest... everything is so hectic for her, she's been looking after everyone & everything through this & she needs to let someone else take over, or help. But it sounded like she was going to be with family, so I didn't prepare for it. Then I got a call 5ish that yes, they were coming for dinner - 3 of them. SO I had to haul-ass & get everything ready so they could just chill. We had our dinner & she talked a lot about her mom. She's quite a tough little cookie that one. We thought it might be fun to get our minds onto something else & be cheery so turned on the karaoke machine. We got a little silly :) They left though pretty early & Hank & I stayed up & sang awhile. It was a pretty early night though I think asleep before midnight.
We got what we needed done on Sunday & then headed out to Dad & Step-Mom's place in the country. We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner out there went for a walk on their land. Then, I brought out the karaoke again! I thought we might get bored & they might enjoy it, and they did.... we had a blast and sang out hearts out. It was 3ish when Hank went to bed... then Step-Mom followed maybe 4 or 4:30 and somehow Dad & I partied up until like 6:30am! UGH! Crazy! But soooo fun!
We woke up at like 10ish & I didn't know where I was! We never sleep anywhere but home so when I woke up in the unfamiliar room I felt so lost! It was kinda funny.
Anyway, she made us breakfast & we made our way home. I had already offered & agreed to make a bunch of food etc. for the Celebration of Life and BootyEh wanted to make a day of it on Monday so we could work together & help eachother do all this stuff. So I had to call Wpg Mom & let her know I couldn't make it for dinner. She was pretty upset... I explained to her that LilWea's family is mostly from out of province & she could really use this help & support, plus, I really care for her & hope that my friends would do the same for me should I ever be in that situation. SHe understood after. So I stayed home & BootyEh came with LilWea & LilWea's sister's boyfriend & she sat outside with him & relaxed while BootyEh & I worked in the kitchen. Had a couple more beers while I was at it... so carried on my buzz from the night before... WHOA! Anyway, I baked a zucchini chocolate cake and made these wrap things you cut up into bite size snacks & BootyEh cut up all the veggies for the trays we'll have there. We got lots done. They left around 7ish so I did go visit Wpg Mom for a little bit & we came home & went to bed by like 9! A little TV and then OUT - snoooooozy... but we both woke up at like 2:30am & couldn't sleep no more. We were tossing & turning all night... it was awful... so tired today... and a little hungover from the crazy weekend.
SO BootyEh & LilWea are coming home with me after work to do some final prepping etc. for the service/party... not much more though - we're pooped. Someone else is looking after the drinks & sandwiches etc. I think.
I couldn't get a trade to get off early for the thing tomorrow so I had to give away the shift. It sucks to lose the hours, but I need to be there for her. I want to help as much as I can, and they've all really appreciated my help. So that gives me time tomorrow to finish everything up & be ready for BootyEh to come get me after she gets off at noon. We'll load it up & get over as early as we can to set up etc. before the prayers start at 1 and then the celebration at 2:30. Busy busy. Hank should be meeting us after - he can't take the time off right now unfortunately.
So I think I have done what I need to do (and will keep at it) showing her I am here for her, to help, or to listen, or whatever. And lots of hugs. I am glad I have been able to handle this... I was afraid I wouldn't do very well.

Goodbye Terri. I am sorry I never got the pleasure of meeting you, but you sure have raised a great daughter and from what everyone says you seeem to be a pretty terrific lady. Please rest in peace and watch over your girls. It seems God took you so quickly because he didn't want someone like you to have to suffer like that any longer. I believe he must have a purpose for you up there, and had to take this Angel from the earth. You will be missed greatly, and I will do whatever I can to help your daughter through this.
